Parilla

I know very little about this obscure Italian brand of small motorcycles produced from 1946 until at least 1965. Most of the small production was exported to the U.S. during this period, but you can look at it this way. Ducati is the best-known of the many Italian brands in the U.S., but how tiny are that factory's production numbers compared to those of Kawasaki or Suzuki? Parillas are a lot less common in this country than are the motorsickles that quack. That makes Parillas in the U.S. rare indeed. Although the company built many models in the 50-350cc range, the most popular in the U.S. were the 175cc and 250cc models. Guy Reynolds at Yamaha is apparently a knowledgeable fan and supporter of the Parilla brand, and thanks to his efforts, we now have a Parilla page at Tiddlerosis. This color photo of a beautifully restored Parilla is shown courtesy of the Moto Parilla site, hosted by Milt Schullian. I don't have any information as to exactly what year or model this machine is, but isn't it gorgeous? You can find lots more beautiful photos and other information about this rare Italian at Moto Parilla.
